The Goat and the Wandering Crane

I was inspired by Aesop's animal fables and decided to come up with my own dark twist. The piece was originally intended for Halloween in 2018.

The story is about a curious crane wanting to venture deep into a nearby swamp. Its elders told the crane to not delve into those regions. Of course, the crane decides to go on its own and discovers a source of great evil. A demonic goat sorcerer calls to the crane and conjures an apparition of its own death before the crane. The scene depicts the moment when the crane encounters its after-image.
